Janet Penfold trained and qualified, at the Body Control Pilates school in London. She has her intermediate and advance matwork certificate, is a member of the Body Control Pilates Association and on the Register of Exercise Professionals (REP). Janet has practised Pilates for over 8 years. She has always been involved in dance and exercise, and previously taught aerobics and floor-based exercises. She initially took up Pilates to help with back pain, due to too many hours sitting at a computer! But it soon became crucial to her overall sense of well being.
She is also a jazz/funk singer.
Pilates is a balanced blend of strength and flexibility training which
improves posture, reduces stress and creates long, lean muscles without
bulking up, by concentrating on your core stability providing you with a
comprehensive all over workout for your body, suitable for all ages and all
abilities
